This headline focus on a minor part of the speech. Predicting the future is the most inexact of sciences./ I remember when some evangelicals were quite excited by Toffler’s Third Wave. Given sufficient research medical advances will happen. The rich will benefit first buy will also act as Guinea pigs. New procedures have a way of becoming standardised as much less costly. There are plenty of warnings of the dangers of the future in novels and films. an early and significant example is Huxley’s “Brave New World”. We have seen possible futures and so are able to protect against them.
