Evangelical Alliance
New General Director: Steve Clifford
Fulcrum is delighted with the news that Steve Clifford is to be the next General Director of the Evangelical Alliance.
Steve Clifford worked as a teacher in the 1980s before taking up full-time church leadership in 1985. He has been long been involved in church planting, running leadership and discipleship teams, and enabling networks. He has served as Chair of many key evangelical initiatives, including Soul Survivor, Hope 08, Soul in the City, London and of March for Jesus International.
Mike Talbot, the Alliance's Chair of Board, said:
We are delighted to make this appointment. Steve has a real passion for the local church and developing young people, which has given him a strong sense for the issues that matter to Christians and non-Christians alike. He is a leader of leaders, gifted at enabling and mobilising teams and individuals into action, with a real ability to build partnerships with people from across the Christian spectrum.
He is a visionary and I am excited to see how his vision has consistently centred around mission and evangelism. These qualities leave us in no doubt that he is the right person to take forward the Alliance, which exists to unite evangelicals in transforming society. He is well placed to lead the Alliance staff team in representing, networking and resourcing its members in the service of Christ.
Fulcrum has warmly welcomed the appointment of Steve as the new General Secretary and he has sent us his own generous greetings in response:
I was delighted to receive greetings and well wishes from the Fulcrum network within hours of the announcement of my appointment as General Director of the Evangelical Alliance. I am very much looking forward to connecting with Evangelicals right across the denominational and theological spectrum and it will be a delight to meet up with Evangelical Anglicans, particularly those connected with Fulcrum.
Along with many others, we look forward to supporting the Evangelical Alliance in this next phase of its work as it furthers the call of the Gospel, and we would encourage much prayer for the new General Director as he takes up this key role.
