Why is the Church ‘bewildered’ by this ban? To a secular/humanistic society, which has, as a whole, rejected the God and Christ of the Bible, the prayer that Jesus taught his disciples to pray, with its petition that God’s will be done and his kingdom come on earth, is deeply disturbing and provocative, challenging and condemning the society as a whole.
