Europe’s cathedrals as enduring sacred spaces: Reflections after the Notre Dame fire – May 10, 2019 by Fulcrum When the Notre-Dame fire began, I was up at the Sacré Coeur in the eighteenth arrondissement. It was a sunny afternoon, and crowds were sat on the green in front of the church making the most of the fine weather. Dance music was being played to a medium volume while a man with a football performed tricks at the top of the hill. It was a festival-like scene. This was Sacré Coeur as one of many tourist hot-spots. Busy, vibrant, unremarkable. Daniel Coyne. ABC News. 6 May 2019 FulcrumShareTweetShare
