Timothy Storey set up a Facebook profile to groom under age girls online
Was convicted of eight child sex charges at Woolwich Crown Court
- Was given three-year rehabilitation order - which was condemned by MPs
- Mail investigation raises questions for the police and Church of England
- Suggested Church knew about Storey's predilection for young girls in 2009
- When Church reported him to Metropolitan police they said 'no criminal act' was committed, it is claimed

I’m not sure what they are trying to blame the church for. The report indicates that Wycliffe / London diocese spotted something was wrong. They reported it to the police and a decision not to prosecute was made. Non the less they advised him that he was not suitable for a pastoral role and his training was terminated and this was recorded in appropriate registers. He was employed in an administrative role. No indication is given of any failure in DBS/CRB procedures. No indication is given that he had any personal contact with under age girls in his job other than that which any member of a congregation has. No indication is given that he harmed anyone he came into contact in his employment.
Facebook is with us and by and large is a good thing. The best protection is though education. Facebook could do more by sending advice to members who admit to being under 18
